Alaska 2010

I have been traveling/photographing in Southeast Alaska since early May. I left Seattle for Prince Rupert, B.C, and took a ferry through the Inside Passage. I stayed in Ketchikan and Petersburg for several days each, and am now heading to Skagway and Juneau. Then I'll fly to Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve via a small airplane on May 27. I'll be living and photographing in Glacier Bay between late May and early September in order to follow the short seasons.

Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve is located in southeast Alaska about 60 miles west of Juneau. The park has a beautiful coastline, tidal glaciers, rain forest, and snowcapped mountains. Wildlife includes humpback whales, orcas, and countless bears. The park's only road is 11 miles long, and boats and kayaks are the only way to explore the depths of Glacier Bay.

I'm excited to explore the remote wilderness of Glacier Bay National Park this coming summer.
